Before Writing: For this post, you have the choice of providing a thorough summary of chapters 13 and 14 or of completing the assignment described below. In either case, chapters 13 and 14 need to be read by classtime on Thursday, November 10. These chapters will be used as launching points for the final projects. If you choose to do the summaries be as thorough as possible. For either assignment, make sure to tell your audience which you chose to do.
To complete the following assignment, it will be necessary to have read and studied your peers’ posts to Reading Response 4. After you have read everyone’s posts, you should select at least three to include in this post.
Writing:
- The goal here will be to look for the things you missed in your own post by reading the responses of your peers, to revisit these ideas by returning to the text, and to compare your own understandings to those of your peers. As you read over the blog, take note of what you are learning from reading the other posts. Once you see something someone else picked up that you missed the first time around, go back to Writing About Cool and revisit the appropriate section. Record your new/adjusted appreciation of the concept.
- Write a post that discusses the differences and similarities between your reading and that of at least three of your peers. Your post should also reflect that you have a renewed understanding by having revisited Writing About Cool.
- Organize your post by concepts. You do not need to compare your whole posts of three others. Instead, discuss three concepts in three body paragraphs. For each concept, you should discuss your differences and similarities with a different fellow student.
- In each paragraph, provide a link to the post you are working from. Do not copy the link from the URL in the browser. At the bottom of every post is a “Permalink.” Click on that link, and then copy the URL to paste into your post.
- Make the post unified. Provide an introductory overview of the post up front and a conclusion at the end.
- Due: Class Time on Thursday, November 10.
