Ripples By: Norma “Incachild” Gutierrez

I picked this project initially because it caught my eye, but on closer examination there are many readings in this image. Each time you look at it it develops more from the last time. This project is composed of digitally manipulated photographs. There are many different elements to it and you truly have to see it to understand how they come together. This project made me think of so many things… the street light and the fence made me think of the city, the leaves made me think of the outdoors or the park, and the yacht made me think of being on the ocean or at the beach. The project made me feel confused at first, but then it lead me through a series of emotions; from enlightenment to astonishment. I associated the cool colors and the leaves in the image to thoughts of fall and winter and colder weather. I do admire this work in that it is very interesting in its appearance and that it is very apparent that the creator knew what she was doing when she created this work.

Overall I really liked this project; it makes me want to learn more about Photoshop so I might create something similar some day.

Thanks for reading,
JD
